Tour de France 2019 – Stage 16: Profile, prediction, standings, time and TV stream

It’s crunch time. Well, sort of.

The 2019 Tour de France is living up to its billing as being one of the most exciting ones in recent memory. After a gruelling few days in the mountains and a most welcome rest day, business resumes and Geriant Thomas is expected to launch a staunch title defence.

Julian Alaphilippe, somewhat beyond all expectations, has managed to cling onto the yellow jersey despite looking cooked on more than one occasion.

The first day back after the break is nice and flat, so the Frenchman might use this to give whatever he has left to hold on just a little while longer.

Or, he might be over it and resign himself to losing time, seeing as this has already gone beyond his wildest dreams.
