A fan poll determined the DHL epic moment of week 7 of the Rugby World Cup was the incredible try scored by Makazole Mapimpi.
The Springbok winger became the first South African to score a try in a Rugby World Cup final in Yokohama on Saturday 2 November.
Mapimpi rounded off a superb Springbok attack just after the hour mark.
The Springboks sent the ball quickly through the hands finding Mapimpi in a bit of space, but with English defenders closing him down he did chipped ahead, the kick was perfectly weighted and bounced up beautifully into the hands of the chasing Lukhanyo Am.
Am might have gone for the score himself but chose instead to send Mapimpi in, catching and passing in one movement without looking at his Sharks teammate whose perfect line allowed him to cruise over the tryline untouched. The score effectively killed off England’s challenge and to put the cherry on the top it was one of the best Springbok tries of all-time.
