Kaizer Chiefs have a comfortable lead at the top of the league standings halfway through the season, and will want to consolidate that with some activity in the transfer window.
The Glamour Boys brought in five signings in the previous window, who have propelled them to the top and are looking set for their first title in five years.
Their coach, Ernst Middendorp has indicated that there will be minimal changes in terms of squad personell, but we’re not ruling out any new signings at Naturena.
Thabo Rakhale (Chippa United)
The former Orlando Pirates man could join a list of players who have turned out for both Soweto giants after being heavily linked with Kaizer Chiefs.
Rakhale is the subject of a reported contract dispute at his current club, Chippa United and might just find himself in Naturena.
Anthony Akumu (Zesco United, Zambia)
With Lazarous Kambole still yet to find his feet at Chiefs, the club is said to be shopping at his former club for another signing.
This time around, the player who has piqued the Glamour Boys’ interest is Kenyan defensive midfielder, Anthony Akumu.
The 27-year-old could bolster Ernst Middendorp’s squad in the centre of the park, where he will compete against the likes of Willard Katsande and George Maluleka should he make the move.
Tshwarelo Bereng (Black Leopards)
After joining Black Leopards shortly after their promotion to the top flight in 2018, Tshwarelo Bereng could soon be on his way out of the Thohoyandou-based outfit.
The attacking midfielder has featured sparingly for the struggling side but is said to have attracted interest from the Soweto giants.
Thabang Monare (Bidvest Wits)
The Bidvest Wits midfielder has long been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, and his name has yet sprung up once more with another transfer window underway.
Amakhosi are reportedly facing competition from rivals Mamelodi Sundowns for the player’s signature.
Mwape Musonda (Black Leopards)
Zambian international Mwape Musonda is said to have become disenchanted with playing for the struggling outfit and could be on his way out as soon as January.
His exploits last season saw him bag the Golden Boot award, attracting some of the league’s biggest clubs, including Kaizer Chiefs, who could make a move for his signature, should he become available.
