England became the first team to qualify for the World Cup quarterfinals after beating 14-man Argentina 39-10 in Tokyo on Saturday.

A Benjamin Urdapilleta penalty briefly handed Argentina the lead before England hit back with three first-half tries from Jonny May, Eliot Daly and Ben Youngs, the latter two coming after the red carding of Pumas lock Tomas Lavanini for a high tackle on Owen Farrell.

There were three further England tries for George Ford, Jack Nowell and Luke Cowan-Dickie in the second period, Matias Moroni crossing for a consolation try for Argentina.
