Nelson Mandela Bay interim Mayor Tshonono Buyeye has applauded the Ebubeleni Music Festival for marketing the city and contributing to the local economy.
The three day Music Festival which includes a comedy show is currently underway at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
Scores of people from various provinces have already gathered at the stadium to enjoy the line-up of musicians.
“Accommodation is at an all-time high; we are getting the figures although they have not been confirmed. People are coming in numbers to our city, coming from other cities and they are spending time in the city as you know this event is not a once off event, it is not a one day event, it’s a three day event. People have been here since Friday and they are spending in the city and that has a huge impact in the city economy,” says Interim Mayor Tshonono Buyeye.
