The Mangaung Metro has warned motorists to remain vigilant as they make their way to the 2019 Mangaung Arts and Cultural Festival also known as Macufe in Bloemfontein.
Several roads in the area are under construction and this has led to traffic congestion.
“We are making a clarion call to visitors to be respectful of law, be considerate of other drivers and equally enjoy without any hindrance,” says Mangaung Metro Spokesperson, Qondile Khedama.
Security has been beefed up for the festival.
Organisers of the popular 10-day festival say they are on high alert for any eventuality. The 10 days of celebration are built on a foundation of incredible live performances across hip hop, jazz, divas, gospel, and main festival concerts.
Macufe Security Director Lerato Lengau has warned revellers to be safety conscious.
“We have actually employed strategies in as far as a safety and security is concerned. We are also warning our patrons or the revellers who are coming to Macufe to enjoy the festivities with us during the period of Macufe to ensure that they are vigilant.”
