The charges against Gqom star Bongekile Simelane, better known as Babes Wodumo, have been withdrawn by the Durban Magistrate’s Court.
Wodumo together with Nondumiso Simelane and popular Gqom musician Thobeka ‘Tipcee’ Ndaba were facing a common assault charge.
The charges were opened after an alleged incident involving a Durban businesswoman.
Provincial National Prosecuting Authority Spokesperson Natasha Kara says the charges were dropped after the parties engaged in an alternative dispute resolution mechanism.
“The matter was at the Durban Magistrate’s Court this (Thursday) morning, and the matter was settled via ADR which is Alternate Dispute Resolution. This was between the complainant and the accused in the matter. The charges were then withdrawn because the matter has been settled amicably between the two parties.”
