This year marks the 45th annual National Arts festival and patrons can experience 11 amazing days of arts, culture and entertainment.

The first day of the festival is on June, 27th.

Organisers say everyone is on board in the small town of Makhanda and ready to host an influx of people.

The festival continues to be the biggest annual celebration of the arts on the African continent.

CEO of the National Arts Festival, Tony Lankester says it’s all systems go…

“Just over a week to go before this year’s arts festival, we are officially allowed to get excited – the town is ready, we have got systems and plans in place to keep our visitors safe and comfortable throughout the festival, and now it’s all about the art and experience of one of the world’s iconic events… while we are asking visitors to use water wisely and cautiously during their stay, we don’t want to that to distract them from immersing themselves from the arts and having an amazing experience.”
